The DIY Music Manual is now released!
The DIY Music Manual has now been officially released in the UK and Europe from Ebury/Random House! Its core is the same as the Indie Band Survival Guide, but we had more time to work on the concepts, new musicians and companies that we interviewed, and entirely rewrote legal and country specific sections.
The research for the DIY Music Manual was fascinating, because the UK is truly different than the states in some areas. Naturally, the internet and web is the same, but the media doesn’t require three months of lead time like the US does: they will publish within weeks. And fans there currently still buy CDs, something that has all but evaporated in the US. We’re jealous.
We hope to visit the UK soon, but don’t have solid plans yet. If you are interested to have us come out there, feel free to contact us! We’d love to know so that we can plan our trip.
